Story:
Finca La Soledad has been in the Perez family for five generations, nestled in the verdant heart of the Acatenango region. Blessed with a unique microclimate and fertile volcanic soil, it provides an ideal environment for cultivating high-quality coffee with distinctive characteristics.
Henio, alongside his sons Raul and Jose, has dedicated themselves to continual development and enhancement of their processing techniques, striving to unlock the coffee's fullest potential. Their commitment sets a benchmark not only for Guatemalan coffee producers but also for the global coffee community, as they generously share their expertise with roasters worldwide.
Encompassing 90 hectares, with 45 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation and the remainder preserved as natural forest, Finca La Soledad also ventures into avocado cultivation, diversifying both their income streams and the local ecosystem. Renowned for the longevity of their coffee, they meticulously apply processes to uphold the highest quality standards over time.
Adhering to the traditional washed processing method, every stage, from harvesting to drying, is meticulously performed by hand. Yet, they are also explorers, venturing into alternative processing methods to unveil new flavor profiles and expand horizons. Their participation and accolades in the Cup of Excellence reflect the esteem and recognition they've garnered across the coffee industry, propelling them to continuously refine and innovate.
